Our two pods are called Camusfearna and Cavalus.
Both pods sleep up to four. There is space for you to bring your infant cot if required. The pods are beautifully built of larch timber, and are warm, spacious and comfortable. Both pods have their own space outside, with a bench and fire pit. There is space for children to play and explore, and nearby river and forest walks.
Camusfearna is named after a beloved horse who lived in the field the pods are now in. The Camusfearna Pod has one double bed and two singles. It is situated at the top of the hill, with fabulous views down to the lake. Cavallus - Latin for horse - is surrounded by peaceful horses grazing in their fields. It has four single beds and also boasts amazing views of the surrounding land and lake.

Horses We love horses at Craigengillan. Why not bring your horse on holiday with you too? Your horse would stay at the beautiful Craigengillan Stables. We have some of the best hacking in the country, with miles of off- road riding on tracks, through fields, over hills and through forests. Trek independently or enjoy guided hacks from our experienced team of riding adventurers. We have an outdoor arena and jumping paddock for holiday makers to use too.
Please contact Craigengillan Stables before booking a Pod if you would like to come with your horse(s). We want to make sure we can meet all your horse’s needs.
Wildlife Craigengillan will hold a special place in your heart
See some of our wonderful diversity of wildlife. You may see ospreys, red kites, roe deer, highland cattle and badgers. You are likely to spot roe deer in the evenings and early morning, and there is a badger hide a fewminutes away. In high summer, dragonflies zoom over the meadows and ponds, and with the arrival of winter come whooper swans and other migrating birds.
Explore Explore miles of estate paths on foot or bike. We are pet friendly and your dogs are welcome to say. Visit the nearby hens and horses. Picnic by Dalcairnie Falls. In the spring and summer there are myriad wild flowers from early snowdrops, primroses and violets within the woods, to carpets of orchids, harebells, ragged robin and meadowsweet later on. Go trout fishing on over two miles of the River Doon, and a 60 acre loch. Day permits are available for £12 and we can arrange fly fishing lessons from a local expert.
Gaze at 10,000 stars above. We are in a gold tier Dark Sky Park. You can arrange to visit the Scottish Dark Skies Observatory which is on the Estate. It operates by appointment only. Sit around a camp fire in the evening, listen to the hooting of the owls and toast marshmallows.
